This past weekend marked a historic milestone for Critical Path Security Canada as we hit the track with Ryan Vargas in the NASCAR Canada Series at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). Proudly adorning the #28 Dodge Challenger, Critical Path Security made its sponsorship debut in front of a national audience, backed by the raw determination and skill of Vargas and the powerhouse DJK Racing team.

In what was Vargas’ first-ever time at CTMP—and his first time piloting this specific Dodge Challenger—the challenge was clear: learn fast, adapt faster. And that’s exactly what he did.

“It’s never easy showing up to a track completely green, but it’s even harder showing up in a car that you’ve never driven,” said Vargas. “Thankfully, my DJK Racing team was quick to adjust and make the right calls all weekend on my #28 Critical Path Security Dodge Challenger, helping me gain a second and a half between practice and qualifying.”

Starting deep in the field may have seemed like a setback, but Vargas turned it into an opportunity. Chasing down seasoned Canadian drivers, he showed grit and intelligence, managing tire wear, keeping the car clean, and racing smart.

“Starting deep in the field like we did was just as much of a blessing as it was a hindrance. Once I was out there with cars to chase, I felt we had enough pace to keep up with a lot of the really good guys,” he added. “When my team played the strategy a little different and we were able to go lead the race even under green flag conditions, it was just enough reassurance to me that I have the right team behind me and that I can put my best foot forward and compete.”

The team’s strategy paid off. Not only did the #28 take the lead at one point under green flag conditions—a massive feat for a driver in unfamiliar territory—but Vargas crossed the finish line in 12th place. A clean car. A solid result. A whole lot of momentum.

“To leave this weekend with a solid 12th place finish is exactly what we needed. It felt good to be frustrated with a result like that. It was a massive confidence booster being able to race against such competitive drivers and leave with a solid result and a clean car.”

For Critical Path Security Canada, the event was more than just a race—it was our first public appearance as a fully Canadian company.

“This weekend was more than a debut on the track—it was a debut for our entire Canadian operation,” said Patrick Kelley, Founder of Critical Path Security. “It’s not every day you get to launch a company with this much horsepower behind it—literally. Ryan represented our values of grit, integrity, and focus perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to Canada.

Sponsoring Ryan isn’t about putting a logo on a car. It’s about putting our mission—protecting what matters—into motion. Just like we’re watching over our clients’ environments every second of every day, Ryan was locked in behind the wheel, protecting every inch of that track position. That synergy matters to us.

This was a weekend I’ll never forget. Our name is now in the books. Canada knows we’re here—and we’re just getting started.”

As a company rooted in performance, strategy, and visibility, we see the same values reflected in Ryan and the DJK team. Critical Path Security is proud to stand behind talent like Vargas as we expand our footprint across Canada—not only in cybersecurity but also on the track.

“I wouldn’t be here without my amazing partner at Critical Path Security Canada, and it’s an honor to represent them as they continue to make their presence known in Canada!” Vargas added.

We’re just getting started. Stay tuned.
