Rick Hudson to Speak at Blue Team Con in Chicago

We’re glad to share that Rick Hudson, CTO at Critical Path Security, is heading to Chicago to speak at Blue Team Con on September 13 at 2:00 PM CDT.

His session, “Strength in Diversity: Building an Inclusive Cybersecurity Workforce,” looks at how diversity across race, gender, sexual orientation, and neurodiversity strengthens cybersecurity by fostering innovation, resilience, and more adaptive defenses.

Rick will get into why cybersecurity is as much about people and perspectives as it is about technology, and how inclusion can provide a strategic advantage when you’re working through complex threats.

That framing matters to us. The threats we defend against are constantly changing, and the way teams get built has a lot to do with how well they keep up. Bringing different perspectives and different ways of thinking into the room helps teams challenge assumptions, approach problems from angles they’d otherwise miss, and build stronger defenses because of it.

It’s a people problem as much as a technical one, and it doesn’t get solved by hiring the same profile over and over.

Blue Team Con has built a reputation as a conference for defenders, run by people who care about the craft. It’s a good room for this conversation, and we’re happy Rick gets to have it there.

If you’ll be at Blue Team Con, make sure you catch Rick’s session on September 13 at 2:00 PM CDT. And if you’d like to talk afterward, he’d be glad to.
